I love Pork Chops. They are one of my favourite cuts of Pork. They are inexpensive, easy to cook, and don't take much time or prep.
These sticky glazed Teriyaki Chops are to die for. It's a recipe I believe everyone should have for a quick weeknight meal. Use my Teriyaki marinade and you'll have an easy delicious recipe.
TERIYAKI PORK CHOPS RECIPE
MY TERIYAKI SAUCE
2 tbs garlic paste or 1 bulb garlic peeled and diced finely, 1 cup Soy Sauce,
1 tbs Mirin, 3 tbs granulated sugar, 1/4 cup Golden Syrup,
1/4 cup water, 1 tsp Tamarind, 3 tbs vegetable oil, 1 Chicken Stock Cube
2 tbs garlic paste or 1 bulb garlic peeled and diced finely, 1 cup Soy Sauce,
1 tbs Mirin, 3 tbs granulated sugar, 1/4 cup Golden Syrup,
1/4 cup water, 1 tsp Tamarind, 3 tbs vegetable oil, 1 Chicken Stock Cube
MAKING THE SAUCE MARINADE
To make the Teriyaki Sauce. I use a small pot so sauce does not boil over. Heat the vegetable oil on high heat until searing hot, then turn to medium low, wait a minute then add the garlic and sear and cook until aromatic. Then add the remainder of ingredients, adding the sugar last. Bring back to high heat and boil until the sauce reduces and thickens to a rich velvety consistency. Pour and strain the sauce through a fine sieve for a smoother consistency. Place in a clean empty jar and store in the fridge

THE PORK CHOPS
This recipe has just two pork chops but if you are making a lot more that's fine. The recipe remains the same you will probably just need a bit more Teriyaki Sauce.
Step 1: Heat 1/3 of a cup of Vegetable oil in a pan or skillet to searing heat. While the pan heats, salt and pepper each chop on each side. You might want to lightly rub the chops with cooking oil after drying excess moisture off chops with kitchen towel to ensure the salt and pepper adheres.

Step 2: Sear the chops for about 2 minutes on each side. Then turn off heat and sprinkle the chops with that delicious Teriyaki Sauce, and then place them in the oven for approximately 28 minutes turning halfway so both sides of the chops receive heat and cook evenly. Based the chops at least once and check to see if the sauce is drying up. If so add a splash of water or more Teriyaki sauce, but bake so the sauce is relatively sticky yet lucid enough to glaze chops.
Step 3: Once removed from the oven based and glaze the chops with the sticky sauce. Leave to rest for at least ten minutes before serving. Serve with mash potatoes, a salad, or rice.
