GERMAN APPLE CAKE

This is my favourite German Apple Cake, a delicious sponge cake with Apples on top sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
Apple cakes and desserts are popular in Europe; and there is no better time to make them than in the Autumn with winter approaching in many places and the holidays coming up in many parts of the world.
GERMAN APPLE CAKE RECIPE
FOR THE CAKE INGREDIENTS
Preheat Oven to 170C
The Dry Ingredients
2 cups of flour (preferably cake flour),
2 tsp baking powder, 1 cup sugar
The Wet Ingredients
3 eggs, 2 Sticks of Butter- 6 tbs each, 1 tsp Vanilla,
Whole Milk only if needed to loosen batter if it becomes too thick
The Topping
2 or 3 Apples Peeled, Cored and Quartered,
3 tbs Granulated Sugar, 1+ /12 tbs Cinnamon
Confection Sugar at the end of baking is optional
