ABOUT SIMONE
Welcome to Simbooker. I created this site to document my recipes, showcase my food photography, and to share my love of food. I have no professional culinary training, no knife skills-I am not a chef. I just love to cook and discover new cuisines. I am a Jamaican born British Citizen, and I enjoy cooking a variety of different dishes from all around the world.
I test recipes, write recipes, develop recipes, photograph food, cook delicious meals; and enjoy eating and discovering new recipe and food ideas.
All recipe posted images on this site are photographed, created, edited, and produced by me, and therefore copyright protected. In addition to all of the personal content created by me, and about me. Please do not use my images without my permission. If you’d like to share any recipes or food photography from this site, please link to the relevant post on this website to be credited as the original source. The same applies to Pinners on Pinterest; if you Pin a photo of mine, please post a link back to the applicable post on this website. Thanks to all the reviewers and editors who have accepted and published my photos, and a continued thanks to all of those on Pinterest who enthusiastically Pin my photos.
Also note that this is an image based website therefore clicking on the photos as opposed to the caption will take you to each recipe post in the recipes and recipe index sections.
Some recipes in the recipe index section are either being updated or undergoing maintenance. If you click on an image and you are not linked directly to that recipe that means the recipe is under review or has yet to be published. For further information click on Simbooker Facts

My food photography motto is simple, basic, clean, clear and crisp. I rarely use props; and prefer to rely heavily on natural daylight and harmonious settings rather than expensive camera equipment,
or elaborate cutlery and crockery.
I still consider myself to be a relative newbie to Food Blogging and Food Writing. My culinary tastes are unique, and I admit I have a slightly more extensive palette than the average Foodie, but I can eat very well on a budget. I am highly resourceful, I hate wasting food. The freezer is my constant saviour. I save so much money, food, and time by using the freezer to preserve produce and re-use leftovers that otherwise would go stale and become waste.
I like Chicken, but I would be bored if I had to eat it everyday. I love Roast Chicken because I rarely cook it. Roast Duck will always be my dish of choice. Duck is my favourite meat and I'll choose it over common chicken almost every time. As of late 2018 the main source of my diet is now fish and seafood. But I continue to enjoy poultry and meat.

Simbooker is only a small spectrum on a very large map of food blogs and websites. I acquired 28K visitors all across the world at my highest reach in 2017, but these numbers can fluctuate- decreasing or increasing
at any given time in a monthly period.
I am no where near to becoming a Food Network Star, sometimes I don't even feature on the analytical map. I see Simbooker like Sylvia's in Harlem; a quaint cosy corner of the culinary world that will potentially grow in due time. Pinners on Pinterest love my recipe posts and I have gained a large quantity of avid Pinners who love my food photography. Thank You.

I could probably live on a diet of Soups, Yoghurt, and Cakes, and be quite content. But I'm Greedy. See Soup, Yoghurt and Cake Board on Pinterest.

I take pride in my food photography. But to be honest, I'd rather be eating the food I prepare, than shooting the food. What I mean, is that immediately after cooking or warming something up in the microwave, I'd rather be dipping my fork into the dish than trying to find a good angle to shoot it. I cannot count the times my mouth is watering, as I take my camera to shoot a photograph. But a few minutes of pain is well worth it, because photos are about capturing the moment. I take pleasure in looking at photographs of food. That's how I know I'm a foodie.
