This is the most delicious recipe for sweet and sticky barbecue ribs, that is so simple to make. And it tastes just as good from the oven as it does made on an actual barbecue.
The secret is in the sauce. A simple easy sauce, that I also use for chicken wings and chicken legs.
I always believed that ribs only tasted great when they are barbecued. But this recipe is made with a sauce that has the rich smokey flavour that gives you that unique barbecue taste.
SWEET & STICKY RIBS RECIPE
HP rich & smokey BBQ sauce
THE INGREDIENTS
1 + 1/2 Cups Water, 1 + 1/4 cup of Sugar, 3 tbs of unsalted butter,
1 whole bottle of HP Rich and Smokey BBQ Sauce, 4 tbs of light Soy Sauce,1 garlic bulb, 2 tsp of onion powder or granulated onion,
1 tsp Cinnamon, A few dashes of Jamaican hot pepper sauce
THE METHOD
In a pot bring the water to boil and add the sugar. After five minutes of boiling add the remainder of ingredients. Boil until the sauce thickens to a syrup-consistency-relatively thick.
Separate Marinade for ribs.
For this recipe I used 5 pork ribs. Adjust ingredients or cooking time needed for your own recipe based on size and quantity. Marinate the ribs for at least 30 minutes in 2 tbs of garlic paste, 2 tsp of salt, 3 tbs of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil or a mild flavoured oil, whisk all these ingredients together before adding to the ribs.
Preheat oven to 175C (guideline only) Please note cooking time will depend on thickness and size of the ribs and the quantity. It should take at least 50 minutes on average. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
